Professional Experience

Jorge Muratorio is the Partner in charge of the Public Law and Economic Regulation Department. He joined the firm in 1998.

His practice area focuses on Constitutional, Administrative, Urban Law, Consumer Law, Fair Trade and Environmental Law, particularly in services and public contracts matters.

He gives advice to utility companies, such as Naturgy, Cámara Empresaria de Transporte Automotor de Larga Distancia (CELADI), Edenor, Telefónica De Argentina, Autopistas Del Sol, among others.

He advices Universidad Torcuato Di Tella on urban and regulatory matters.

Mr. Muratorio acted as principal legal adviser to the European Union project “Evaluation of bids regulation and proceedings in Argentina.”

Between 2015 and 2016, he participated as external adviser on Public Procurement to the Benchmarking Public Procurement project, organized by the World Bank Group.

He acted as adviser to large construction companies on the development and extension of deep-water ports; extension of gas pipeline networks, and participation in bidding processes and contracts.

He submitted private and public-private initiative proposals, including the creation and development of a Cooperation Consortium (Law No. 26,005) between Vossloh Cogifer S.A. and the state company Administración de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias Sociedad del Estado (ADIF) for the modernization and start-up of railway workshops in La Plata, Province of Buenos Aires.

In environmental terms, he participated in complex legal proceedings involving the petrochemical industry, and he also gave advice on the development of environmental frameworks for various industries.

Within the Consumer Protection and Fair Trade area, he led summary administrative proceedings and legal proceedings for the objection of sanctions involving Ford, Ford Credit Cia. Financiera, Farmacity, Nextel, Medicus, and Grupo Concesionario del Oeste S.A.

Education

He graduated from Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) with a degree in Law. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Administrative Law from Universidad Austral.

Currently, he is attending a Post-Graduate Course in Latin American Administrative Law from Universidade da Coruña.

In 2005, he attended the professional update program offered by the Academy of American and International Law, Institute for International and Comparative Law organized by The Center for American and International Law, Dallas, Texas.
