On February 23, 2024, Decree No. 195/2024 was published in the Official Gazette amending the Law of Ministries (t.o. by Decree No. 438/92) in order to abolish the Ministry of Infrastructure and make several amendments to the powers assigned to the Chief of Cabinet of Ministers and competences granted to the Ministries of the Interior, Economy, Justice and Human Capital.
As from the entry into force of Decree No. 195/2024, the powers regarding policies related to transportation, public works, water policy, territorial development, among others, which were under the responsibility of the Ministry of Infrastructure, were transferred to the Ministry of Economy.
