Through Provisions 2599/2026 and 2601/2026 (Official Gazette, May 21, 2026), the National Administration of Medicines, Food, and Medical Technology (ANMAT) incorporated into the national legal framework two regulations issued by the Common Market Group (GMC) of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), related to the regulation of substances used in personal hygiene products, cosmetics, and perfumes. Specifically, Provision 2599/2026 incorporated GMC Resolution No. 06/25, which approves the new MERCOSUR Technical Regulation on the list of substances that such products must not contain, except under the conditions and with the restrictions expressly established; while Provision 2601/2026 incorporated GMC Resolution No. 07/25, which amends GMC Resolution No. 62/14 regarding substances that may not be used in such products.
