Through Decree 377/2026 (Official Gazette, May 22, 2026), an amendment was introduced to the regulations of the Consumer Protection Act No. 24,240 and its amendments (“LDC”), originally established by Decree No. 1798 of October 13, 1994.
This amendment—as stated—aims to incorporate a voluntary payment mechanism applicable to fines imposed under the LDC (Art. 45), aligning federal regulations with procedural incentives already in effect in various local jurisdictions, to encourage early payment of penalties, reduce litigation, and promote a more agile and efficient management of administrative proceedings.
