ANMAT and the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries incorporate GMC Resolution No. 26/22 and amend the requirements applicable to pigments and colorants in cellulosic food-contact materials

Through Joint Resolution 9/2026 (Official Gazette, July 30, 2026), the National Administration of Medicines, Food, and Medical Technology (ANMAT) and the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries incorporated into the national legal framework Resolution No. 26/22 of the Common Market Group (GMC) of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), which amends GMC Resolution No. 40/15, “MERCOSUR Technical Regulation on Cellulose-Based Materials, Packaging, and Equipment Intended to Come into Contact with Food,” and replaced section 2.15.1 of Part I of Article 186 bis of the Argentine Food Code (CAA).
