ENACOM enables the blocking of IMEI, IMSI and associated mobile lines in federal penitentiary facilities

By means of Resolution 300/2026 (Official Gazette, May 13, 2026), the National Communications Agency (ENACOM) approved the inclusion of the definition of International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) and amended the “Procedure for Blocking Devices Reported as Stolen, Theft, or Loss and the Identification of Irregular IMEIs,” approved by ENACOM Resolution 2459/2016, in order to enable Mobile Communications Service Providers (PSCM) to block the IMEI, the IMSI, and the associated telephone line in certain cases related to federal correctional facilities. The regulation took effect on May 21, 2026.
