Through Decree 408/2026, published on June 1, 2026, the National Executive Branch approved the regulations for the Labor Assistance Fund (FAL), which was established by Labor Modernization Law No. 27,802.
The regulatory provision establishes the operational guidelines for its implementation, defines how the funds operate, identifies the participating agencies, and regulates the procedure for financing and paying the severance benefits covered by the system.
It should be noted that the FAL was established by Law No. 27,802 as a mechanism designed to assist in the payment of certain severance benefits arising from the termination of an employment contract, without modifying the existing severance regime or relieving the employer of its liability to the employee regarding the payment of such benefits.
