The company Jujuy Energia y Mineria S.E. (JEMSE a company owned by the Province of Jujuy) has launched a tender for mining properties with potential for the exploration and feasibility of a lithium project, where it expects new investments and the search for the development of new lithium exploration projects.

There are 7 mining properties, including exploration, mining and reserve areas, within the Salinas Grandes and Laguna de Guayatayoc basin, in the center of the province.

Specifically, it is a national and international tender for the geological exploration and feasibility of about 11,000 hectares in the basin for the eventual development of a future lithium carbonate production. The area has high potential and is one of the richest in the world in this mineral because it is located in the so-called “lithium triangle”, a region formed by Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.
