On March 18, 2026, Joint Resolution 1/2026 of the Ministries of Health and Economy and the National Institute of Industrial Property was published in the Official Gazette. The resolution takes effect upon publication, repeals the 2012 Joint Resolution, and provides that the INPI shall determine, on a case-by-case basis, the patentability of chemical -pharmaceutical inventions in accordance with Law No. 24481 and its amendments.
