Through Provision 03/2026 (Official Gazette 6/2/26), the National Directorate for Consumer Protection and Arbitration (“the Directorate”), under the Undersecretary for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade (“SDCYLC”) of the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce, of the Ministry of Economy (MECON), supplemented Provision SDCYLC 954/2025 of 9/3/2025, which unified the regime of the Repentance Button and the Service Cancellation Button to facilitate the exercise of these rights by consumers.
The Directorate requires providers to establish reasonable methods for validating the identity of anyone requesting the termination or revocation of a service contract. The aim is to ensure the security of these operations in order to prevent fraud and protect consumer and user data.
