The National Executive Branch issued Decree No. 1103/2026, published on September 28, 2026, in the Official Gazette, declaring Pope Leo XIV’s official visit to Argentina to be of national interest and establishing November 9, 10, and 11, 2026, as holidays.
It is important to note that each of the dates specified in the decree has a different territorial scope, as detailed below:

The decree classifies the days listed above as holidays and not as non-working days. In the areas covered by this decree, therefore, the holiday work regulations set forth in Article 166 of the Employment Contract Law must be applied, which provides—in the event that services are rendered—for payment of the normal remuneration for a working day plus an equal amount.
