ANMAT and the Secretariat of Agriculture and Fisheries update the Argentina Food Code requirements for cellulosic materials and regenerated films intended to come into contact with food

Through Joint Resolution 11/2026 (Official Gazette, August 6, 2026), the National Administration of Medicines, Food, and Medical Technology (ANMAT) and the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries incorporated into the national legal system Resolutions Nos. 02/25 and 16/25 of the Common Market Group (GMC) of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) into the national legal framework and amended Chapter IV of the Argentine Food Code (CAA), which pertains to utensils, containers, packaging, wrappings, devices, and accessories intended to come into contact with food. The amendments apply to cellulosic materials manufactured from recycled fibers and to regenerated cellulose films intended to come into contact with food.
